Christmas Eve Skating Party
Join us December 24th from 2-4:30pm to wish your neighbours a Merry Christmas and kick off the holiday season. The holiday tunes will be playing, the fire pits will warm things up, hot chocolate and cookies will be available for the kiddos and festive spirits await the adults. And rumour has it Santa will be stopping by for a skate before beginning his big delivery journey!
While admission is complimentary and sponsored by EPRA, kindly RSVP if planning to attend so the elves know we have enough treats! Cash donations will be accepted for the Calgary Food Bank.
Elbow Park Casino Fundrasier
EPRA Casino 2025 - Volunteers Needed!
Every 18 months, the Elbow Park Residents Association (EPRA) hosts a 2-day casino event—a vital fundraiser for our community.
In May 2023, our last casino event raised over $70,000, which supported clubhouse operations like heating and other essential expenses.
These funds allowed us to dedicate additional resources to special projects and events around Elbow Park.
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded another 2-day casino event in early 2025, but we need your help to make it happen!
Event Details
Dates: Thursday, February 20, and Friday, February 21, 2025
Location: Elbow River Casino | 218 - 18th Avenue S.E., Calgary
Volunteer Requirements
We need 48 volunteers to cover both morning and evening shifts across the two days.
Currently, we have 50% of shifts filled but still need 24 more volunteers to join.
Shift lengths: 5 to 8 hours
Experience: No prior experience required
Flexibility: Volunteers can sign up for both days in the same position
Volunteer Roles
General Manager: Oversees casino flow, monitors cashier payouts, and provides break coverage
Banker: Manages cash and chip inventories, operates a computer, and monitors payouts
Cashier: Exchanges player chips for cash (most challenging position)
Chip Runner: Delivers chips to gaming tables, records inventories, and interacts with gaming floor staff
Countroom Staff: Sorts, counts, and records money using machines and computers
Countroom Supervisor: Supports Countroom Staff as needed
Alternate: Acts as a backup for any position, ready on short notice
Why Volunteer?
Make a meaningful impact on your community
Spend time with friends and meet fellow residents
Enjoy a fun night out with meals and snacks provided
The Stakes Are High!
If we don’t secure enough volunteers to cover all 48 shifts, we forfeit:
The $70,000 in proceeds from this event
Our eligibility to apply for future casino events
In 2023, we had perfect attendance and hosted a successful event. Let’s achieve that again in 2025!
